The Javelina Jundred is run in McDowell Mountain Regional Park, between Fort McDowell and Fountain Hills in Arizona. The setting is pure Sonoran Desert: wide trail, saguaro cactus, sandy and stony ground, with gentle gradients but complete exposure to the sun through the middle of the day.

Three distances are offered: 161 km, 100 km and the Jackass Night Trail over 31 km. The race is one of the events awarding a Golden Ticket for Western States.
