The Tahoe 200 Endurance Run laps Lake Tahoe by following the Tahoe Rim Trail. The route stays at altitude for nearly its entire length, alternating conifer forest, granite passes, alpine lakes and long exposed ridge sections. Summer days are dry and hot up there, while nights turn sharply cold.
The race is part of both the Triple Crown of 200s and the Grand Slam of 200s, the American circuits for very long distance events. It is run as a single loop, with sleep stations where runners can rest and meet their crew.
