The race takes place in Halifax, the Atlantic port city and capital of Nova Scotia. Start and finish are at the Emera Oval downtown. Courses link city neighbourhoods, waterfront stretches and parkland across the rolling ground typical of the Halifax peninsula. Mid-May weather stays cool and damp, and wind off the water is common.
The event runs across a three-day weekend and offers five formats: marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and a team relay covering the marathon distance. It is the largest running event in Atlantic Canada.
