The Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race runs 10 km down Peachtree Road, Atlanta's historic spine. The course starts in the north of the city and finishes at Piedmont Park, with a net-downhill city profile broken by one well-known climb in the middle miles. Georgia heat and humidity in early July are the main constraint.
Formerly the AJC Peachtree Road Race, the event is organized by Atlanta Track Club and takes up to 60,000 runners on its South edition, a cap set by the organizers. A second running, known as the North edition, now takes place in early January.
